Moderation and snippets no longer exist in my life. >_> Now it seems I only write whole chapters at a time. Yeesh. Okay, but crunch time is coming down now, honest, so either expect A LOT or NOTHING. Hopefully nothing. For my transcript. That's write, cry, ya wankers. XD

Er, so yesh, I did finish the third chapter of Conceit. Click on the link below or on the link at the side. Scribbles. ^^

Latest chapter is edited and open for public consumption. Oh as I was young, green, and easy. I did indeed change the title. The structure is almost the same. Am tiiiired. Should shuffle off to bed now. XD

np: Saint Etienne Join our club

Critiquing is a social internaction, just like any other. You as a person are speaking to another person. (Judge Edwards really into this idea of social interaction. More lawyers should be, seeing as how we provide SOCIAL SERVICES. -_-) I'm not saying that one ought to be fake or fawning when critiquing. That would be doing a disservice to both yourself and the writer. However, consideration and respect for the writer's feelings are a must. So this applies to all critques, whether you are a 12 year old writing your first short story or fanfic or you're a professional writer writing your twelfth novel.

And if you ever read Judge Edwards' critiques, you would know this man is BRUTUAL. A v. smart and demanding man. He's definitely one of the smartest people I've ever met in my life. But if you met him, you would also know that he is one of the most considerate and caring people ever. The two are not incompatiable. I mean it takes a little effort on your part as a critical audience member/beta reader/whatever, but please don't dish advice if you can't take it.

And as a side note, for some reason, all my readers, who are prolly younger girls, seem to assume that -I- am a younger girl, and they keep encouraging me to write more, and it's okay, and it's great and I shouldn't let my low self-esteem get in the way. o_O Heehee. I forget how much power I have in terms of constructing an image of myself online. And elaborate, implasuible death threats are much more persausive to moi than impending suits with dubious levels of success. I'll get around to editting Fancy and opening it to the general pooblic this weekend. Maybe. ^^

Actually, instead of doing my homework or writing cover letters, I finished this chapter of Fancy. It's still super rough and I need to edit it for flow, but the bulk of it is there. This chapter is unlike what I usually write. There are about 7 scenes in all, and I usually go for 2-3 long scenes. I have no idea why I wrote it that way, but I rather like it. ph33r. That only took two weeks. ^_^ And I technically wrote most of it in about 6-7 hours. ph33r me indeed. ^_^;;;; Link below if you want a peek.

Man, finals are definitely around the fucking corner. -_- That's why I'm ficcing like a madwoman. Snippet from next chapter of Fancy. I can channel Tomoyo, it seems. Scheming!Sakura seems to be my weakest link. Damnit. >_<

I really am awfully proud of my latest chapter for Conceit. I am aware of the fact that Draco/Ginny will never happen in the series. Although, given the strangeness that is Rowling, who knows? And truthfully, after writing this chapter, I've convinced myself that the pairing could happen. Because, you know, I was so unbiased to begin with. So really, Belle, do you think I am going to say you're on crack? Ginny's lack of development can work in her favour. It works against her favour in that it's hard to develop an attachment to nothing. But I like her "potential". True, her blankness leaves her open to Mary Sue-ing, but many of the characters with personalities delineated in the books have been Mary Sue-ed: Hermione, Draco, Harry, Ron, etc. Which is not to say that Rowling has even fleshed out those characters fully. There is definitely room for interpretation with most of the characters. But it's amazing how some fics starring Hermione convienently forget her bossy know-it-all attitude, her need to be perfect to the point where she can be self-righteous, etc. Lord, and Draco? >_< The hell? I mean I'm just as guilty as everyone else for making Draco more palatable, but I don't think it would be much of a stretch to say that Draco/Harry is going to be a fic filled with if not Mary Sue-dom than (unjustified) writer wankery.

Now the real question is how do I get more fanart and fanfic devoted to Draco/Ginny? Damnit, must start picking well established fandoms. *pets Eriol/Tomoyo* ^___^

Finished with Conceit. There may be typos, but I think it's pretty much done. I didn't think Malfoy would be so much fun to write. Am exooqsted. Must find some food and caffeine and do some work for school. ^^ Oh, and I'm putting up a page of my fic schtuffs, so if you want to see the finished ficcage, go to the page. Or you can just click the link below. ^_^

Yes, butter pies do appear a lot. I will admit that I shamelessly stole the butter pies from Diana Wynne Jones' A Tale of Time City. It's one of her older books, might be harder to find, although with the recent republishing of her stuff, it might uh not be. XD One of her characters are obsessed with butter pies. Come from the 42nd Century. They have a cold part and a hot part and the cold part tastes better when you let the hot part seep into it. So I imagine the outside is some sort of sweet pastry and the inside is some sort of hot, sweet, syrupy thingee. It's something I think I would like, cos I have a sweet tooth. ^_^ Oh, and click on the link for more bits added. I'm on a friggin ficcin' spree. It's sort of scary.

Working on Conceit. Lots of Malfoy introspective wankery. Hope it sounds okay. No promises as to when this chapter will be posted cos finals loom around the corner and my non-existent job hunt continue. XD

o_o

Amazon.com is reading my fucking mind. How else could they possibly know that I would only want the Draco and Ron figurines? And not the HARRY ONE? (I wouldn't mind the Hermione and Ginny figurines either, but I doubt they're making one for Ginny quite yet.) o_O So maybe the Ron/Draco soundtrack was meant to be. I have 7 Harry Potter soundtracks to date. This is utterly sick. I think I need help. *peers suspiciously at amazon.com* *brandishes sword wildly* Vie, vie, 3v33l site. I will not take this as a sign that I must write Draco/Ron fic. I will forge onward with the soundtrack, but NO FIC. Please? ^^

Eriol: *mad cackling* This is what you get for making a fool of me!!!
Jae: >_>
Eriol: ^__^

The latest chapter of A Young Man's Fancy is FINALLY up. You can read it here. I may end up editing, I just felt it was only fair to make it open to the general public for slaying and wot not. Enjoy and discuss amongst yourselves, but include me, please.

Finally posted the toothbrush slash fic I wrote for Fi. I added a little something into it, albeit late, to round it out just a wee bit. This is my proof that being a slash writer is not something essentially different from het romance. Particularly when you consider the fact that the only things that needs changing are the gender and some anatomy to make many slash fics read like trashy romance novels. I would contend that my slash fic reads like my straight fic, I mean besides the fact that I wrote them XD, because I am concerned with romance between people. Which is not to say that the whole heterosexuality/homosexuality does not inform certain aspects of the relationship because of societal norms. But people have different barriers preventing intimacy, not just societal norms. But yesh, no chip in your shoulders cos your romantic partners have the same equipment. Romance is romance. Shall we perhaps even say something about the way romance is overvalued in art? Why is it the number one person and not say all your really good friends, your intimate circle? Well, it's just easier to focus on a few people. I'm lazy. But it's a problem, innit? Another question for another day.

Ha. Hiiragizawa, people think you're smooth.

Eriol: Well, this is because I -am- smooth.
Jae: Huh. Imagine that.
Eriol: I am too~!
Jae: XD

I think I'm just too used to listening to Eriol angst in my head. But even though he's angsting, doesn't mean he comes off as smooth. Besides, he seems to think that if he pretends to be smooth, no one will notice what a mess he is. And isn't that generally the case with people anyways? Appearances can be powerful stuff. (Speaketh the law student. I knew that before, but law school doesn't hurt in reaffirming, nay?) Sheeet, I promised to finish the chapter by the end of this month. Prolly nothing substantive til after Saturday. Wheee. A week. I can do it in a week. I have my snippet, and I think I need a Sakura plotting session. Twill be v. amusing. I imagine that older!Sakura knows how to get what she wants. I mean Clow and Sonomi? I can't imagine those two influences have been completely eradicated by waffy shoujo heroine inclinations. XD
